Senator Dr. Saphire I. Longmore
Government Senator, Parliament of Jamaica Consultant Psychiatrist, University Hospital of the West Indies
Senator Dr. Saphire I. Longmore is a distinguished Consultant Psychiatrist at the University Hospital of the West Indies, where she integrates her academic, clinical, and research expertise. Twice appointed to the Jamaican Senate, she has made significant contributions to governance, playing an instrumental role in the passage of over 100 pieces of legislation. Dr. Longmore currently serves as Chair of the Jamaica Psilocybin Industry Technical Committee and is a reappointed Board Member and Jamaica’s Representative to the ParlAmericas Organization. She has also served two consecutive terms as President of the Jamaica Psychiatric Association. A published author and researcher, her work focuses on healthcare governance, trauma, and the neuroprotective functions of oestrogen.

SNF Agora Institute Associate Professor of Political Science, Johns Hopkins University
Lilliana Mason is an SNF Agora Institute Professor of Political Science at Johns Hopkins University. She is co-author, with Nathan P. Kalmoe, of Radical American Partisanship: Mapping Violent Hostility, Its Causes, and the Consequences for Democracy and author of Uncivil Agreement: How Politics Became Our Identity. Her research on partisan identity, social sorting, and American attitudes about political violence has been published in top political science journals and featured in media outlets including the New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN, and BBC. She is a member of the 2024 class of Carnegie fellows.
